Our Mission
We, the Anishinaabeg, the people of Odaawaa-Zaaga’iganiing, the Lac Courte Oreilles Band, will sustain our heritage by preserving our past, strengthening our present, and embracing our future. We will defend our inherent sovereign rights and safeguard Mother Earth. We will provide for the education, health, social welfare, and economic stability of the present and future generations.
Our Vision
Odaawaa Zaaga’iganiing is a strong self-sustaining progressive nation rooted in Anishinaabe values. We are a tribal community that is socially, economically, and physically well.
Our Impact
As a sovereign nation, we have worked closely with local, state and federal programs to improve the lives of Tribal members and other community members on the reservation and in Sawyer county. From spearheading an economic program to help businesses succeed to providing educational opportunities to teach and revitalize the Ojibwe language, we take initiative to protect, heal, and strengthen the members of our Tribal community.
